We are approaching the end of our meet the team blog series, and on the week of her one year work-anniversary at Albion it seemed fitting to share our KTP Associate Heather\’s blog.

Job Title: KTP Associate – Business & Marketing Process Manger
Job Role: As a KTP associate, my role is to integrate new marketing and business processes into Albion Environmental’s overall business strategy. The Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) bring support from an academic team at the University of the West of Scotland, to integrate the highest standard of strategies to Albion Environmental. I am responsible for social media development and campaigns, building and maintaining client relationships and updating business and marketing strategy to sustain competitive advantage in the industry.
Experience: I am a recent graduate from the University of the West of Scotland’s School of Business and Creative Industries, where I gained a First-Class Honours degree in Business. I have over 4 years’ experience working in a Duty Manager role for an SME, where I helped develop digital marketing channels, organise promotional events and sustain long-term customer relationships. The Knowledge Transfer Partnership programme (KTP) allows me to progress in industry by developing my project management portfolio and offers unrivalled support for personal and professional development.
Favourite project I’ve worked on: In my short time working with Albion Environmental, I have been lucky enough to be involved in a new product development which is the ‘MyBins’ household waste and recycling app. I love the excitement of the launch of a new product or service and seeing it go from initial idea to live on the market!
Get to Know Me: Something people may not know about me is that I used to be a ballet dancer and performed as a dancer in the opera Aida! My proudest achievement to date is raising over £16,000 for charities in Malawi and spending two weeks there to set up a new foundation for disabled children in Mulanje. I hope to return in the future and continue to support the people and communities in Mulanje.

Sunset in Mulanje, Malawi.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me at the beach! Either in sunny Scotland with my dog or in warmer climates watching the sea waves.
