Household Waste Compositional Analysis Borders Council November 2013

Albion Environmental is pleased to announce the completion of a Waste Compositional Analysis for Borders Council.

The data provided by a Waste Compositional Analysis can be a key tool for local authorities and waste management companies:

• To monitor and improve existing recycling schemes.
• To implement and develop new recycling schemes.
• To assess the input materials and the quality of recycled products in Materials Recycling and Treatment Facilities.

The work completed for Borders Council included an analysis of kerbside collected municipal waste from a sample of 150 households within Hawick and the surrounding area.  It took place from the 11th of November to the 15th of November 2013 and was conducted by Jonathan Love.

The data provided can be used to assess the Councils existing recycling schemes and to identify opportunities to further increase diversion rates in line with Scotland’s Zero Waste agenda.
