Practical insights, compliance updates, and service highlights to help you stay ahead.
Welcome to the January edition of Albion Environmental Insights. This month we’re covering four areas where we’re helping clients reduce risk, avoid delays and strengthen compliance:
- Site Services: CQA oversight to prevent defects, delays and costly rework
- Consultancy: Practical permitting + compliance advice to support better decisions
- Management Cover: EPAS readiness and avoiding CoTC/TCM compliance gaps
- Training/WAMITAB: Keeping teams competent and audit-ready (March course dates)
Site Services | Construction Quality Assurance (CQA)
Why Construction Quality Assurance Matters
CQA provides independent oversight to confirm materials, installation and workmanship align with design requirements and regulatory expectations, reducing risk and protecting long-term performance.
How Albion can help
Our experienced site team provides comprehensive support including on-site inspections, testing verification, photographic records, reporting and compliance documentation.

Consultancy | Permitting & Practical Compliance Support
The Value of Environmental Consultancy: Supporting Better Decisions
Environmental requirements continue to evolve, and early input often prevents the most common issues such as late programme delays, misaligned expectations, and avoidable regulatory risk.
We support clients across the full project lifecycle, including:
- feasibility and planning-stage environmental support
- permitting, variations, and regulatory liaison (SEPA / EA)
- due diligence, compliance reviews and technical reporting
Bringing Albion in early helps identify risks sooner, agree proportionate solutions, and avoid last-minute programme impacts.

Management Cover
Stay compliant and protect your performance rating
SEPA’s EPAS came into effect on 01 January 2026, placing stronger focus on management control and compliance arrangements. Gaps in CoTC / authorised person cover create avoidable compliance risk.
Albion can provide CoTC/TCM cover across the UK
Our TCM team has experience across a wide range of waste facilities and understands the practical realities of operational compliance, not just the paperwork.
We can support with:
- holiday and sickness cover
- short-term or interim CoTC/TCM cover
- longer-term support while recruitment is underway
- compliance support and site documentation as required
Concerned about compliance risk due to a CoTC / TCM cover gap?
