Of key importance in this regulatory change is the removal of the need for a COTC to be held by the TCP. ‘The Regulations’ state: (they) “remove the need for a Certificate of Technical Competence (CoTC) to demonstrate that a person is suitably qualified to hold a waste management licence”
WAMITAB and CIWM are in the early stages of discussion with SEPA to establish the implications relating to these changes. Specifically for: TCP requirements for: New Candidates; Candidates part way through achievement of their COTC; existing COTC holders; holders of WAMITAB Competence Certificates from other UK legislative regions.
