All competent persons who hold Certificates of Technical Competence with the CIWM (WAMITAB) \’Operator Competence Scheme\’ are required to demonstrate Continuing Competence appropriate to the level of risk posed by the facility they are qualified to manage.
Despite legislation differences between Scotland, England and Wales and Northern Ireland our overall view is that CIWM (WAMITAB) qualifications have been available for over 20 years and are a tried and tested method for demonstrating candidates are competent to manage your site, and these qualifications continue to offer significant benefit to candidates and employers alike.
Although the requirement to demonstrate Continuing Competence legally only applies in England and Wales, it is an ideal method to keep your qualification up to date and current for the whole of the UK.
At Albion, we insist all technically competent staff complete this qualification every 3 years to keep us current and up to date.
