SWITCH Forum Focus Group Events

As an Ambassador of the SWITCH Forum, Albion would like to encourage attendance at focus group sessions.  Please see below information from the SWITCH Forum.

Following the successful launch of the competence framework and supporting tools, the SWITCH forum (Scottish Waste Industry Training, Competence and Health & Safety forum) has been exploring the concept of a passport scheme for the resource management industry in Scotland.

We are seeking to establish a passport scheme that is designed for our industry, to provide quality assured, on-site evidence that an individual has demonstrated an appropriate level of knowledge on health, safety and environmental awareness issues, as determined by SWITCH.  The scheme will provide consistency of standards for safety and induction training, and can reduce duplication/repetition of core health and safety training across the industry.

A passport scheme will support our industry on its continuing journey to increase the competence levels of our workforce and hence our safety. 

To aid the development of the scheme and to ensure it meets industry needs, we would like to invite to you attend a focus group session which will look at the benefits, barriers and design principles.   We are keen to ensure that any scheme introduced is designed by industry for industry, so we are seeking to involve as wide a selection of people as possible at this stage.

We are planning to hold 3 focus group sessions in the following locations,

Glasgow                     Tuesday 7th March, AM

Edinburgh                  Thursday 9th March, AM

Perth                          Thursday 16th March, PM

Places at each focus group will be limited – if you, or one of your colleagues would like to attend one of the focus groups, please email Rebecca.clay@euskills.co.uk to register your interest by 24th February, stating which venue you would prefer.   We will get back in touch to confirm event details once numbers for each location have been finalised.
