Background
To enable workers within the waste management industry an introduction to the dangers of Asbestos in line with the legal requirement set out in Regulation 10 “Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR) 2012”.
Objectives
- Understand the dangers arising from exposure to Asbestos.
- Gain awareness of the 3 main types of Asbestos & the main diseases related to Asbestos exposure.
- Understand the general emergency procedures should Asbestos be discovered or disturbed.

Participative with a mix of lecturing, demonstrations and exercises.

Additional Information
There is a legal requirement outlined in Regulation 10 “Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR) 2012”, requiring all workers who may be exposed to Asbestos during their work (and those that supervise them) to receive suitable training.
The training is designed to meet the requirements of these regulations and provide the information recommended in Section 235 of L143 the HSE’s Approved Code of Practise (ACoP) and Guidance for “Managing & Working with Asbestos”
Course Pre Requisites
Good command of the English Language.
