This course has been developed to provide site operators with an understanding of the practical elements of the operation of a weighbridge, and developing their knowledge and understanding surrounding best practice and accompanying legal aspects.
The Course is ideally suited to anyone who regularly operates the weighbridge on site and covers legal responsibilities including completing Duty of Care paperwork.
We offer two options that may be suitable for anyone working with a weighbridge on a day to day basis looking to build their necessary level of knowledge.
- 1 day course held by us at your premises, for up to 6 candidates or
- ½ day online course
SQA and CIWM (WAMITAB) offer a nationally recognised Weighbridge Operator Level 2 Award suitable for people wishing to join the waste management industry, apprentices and people who already work as a Weighbridge Operative and who would like to gain a formal qualification.
Objectives
To understand the main requirements of the role associated with the operation of a weighbridge, in line with industry best practice and accompanying legal aspects.
Training Methods
Both courses include participative training with a mix of discussions.
The 1 day course – also includes ½ day practical work on the weighbridge.

Confirmation of Learning
Confirmation of learning is achieved by observation from a qualified assessor and trainer of candidate participation.
Qualification
Candidates who complete the course successfully will receive a certificate issued by Albion.
Progression Options
Albion also offer individuals the opportunity to further their knowledge by undertaking CIWM (WAMITAB) awards relevant to their role. These awards are suitable for people wishing to join the waste management industry, apprentices and people who already work as a Weighbridge Operative and who would like to gain a formal qualification.
