The Scottish Waste Industry Training Competency and Health & Safety (SWITCH) Forum was originally created to support Scotland’s Zero Waste Plan by encouraging the continual improvement of health & safety and workplace skills in the resource management sector.
The Forum has two main areas of focus:
- Health & Safety: Supporting continual improvement in health and safety
- Education, training & Competency: Creating training, learning and development opportunities
It is recognised that there is a lack of basic health and safety training within the waste and resources sector. The SHEA SWITCH passport scheme, launched in July 2018, is a collaboration between Energy and Utility Skills and SWITCH to further support and promote health and safety in the sector. The scheme has been designed to provide on-site evidence that an individual has demonstrated an appropriate level of knowledge on health, safety and environmental awareness issues – similar to the CSCS card for the construction industry.
A Short summary of the merits of the passport scheme can be found in the EUSkills SHEA_Switch
In order to promote and raise awareness of the newly launched SHEA waste passport scheme we would like to invite you take a few minutes of your time to complete the online survey.
