An experienced senior manager who has worked in waste management and environmental services sector for over 20 years. After 10 years of working with waste management companies he established Albion Environmental Ltd which provides training and support services to waste management and associated industries. Alasdair is a fellow of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management and the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management. He also acts as an External Verifier for the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) and holds a number of Certificates of Technical Competence including Managing Treatment Hazardous Waste (4TMH), Managing Landfill Operations (LS4), Managing Incinerator Operations Special Waste (INC4) Managing Transfer Operations Clinical or Special Waste (TSS4).
Jane Bond, Project & Business Development Director, BSc Hons, MSc
Jane has worked in the waste and resources industry for over 25 years and is an experienced project manager and commercial director. She has a proven record of managing multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high quality work on a variety of projects. Jane has experience in a wide range of areas including sustainability, circular economy, waste management licencing and permitting, risk management, waste strategy and preparation of business cases for waste facilities. She also has experience in supporting businesses in resource efficiency to reduce costs and maximise outputs.
Jane is a member of the Chartered Institute of Wastes Management.
Andrew Howlett, Principal Consultant, BSc Hons, MRes
An experienced Environmental Scientist and project manager who has worked in environmental consultancy for over 8 years. Andrew is experienced in undertaking and reporting contaminated land risk assessments, remedial strategy development and validation, soil waste classification, materials management, production of environmental management plans and environmental compliance auditing. He is also experienced in the preparation of waste management licence exemptions and permit applications and variations. Andrew has successfully managed a wide range of environmental projects on a variety of sites including residential and commercial developments, landfills, recycling facilities and medium to large infrastructure eg. railways, overhead power lines and wind farms.
Gerry McCabe, Principal Consultant, BSc, MCIWM, CEnv
Highly experienced manager with over 20 years knowledge of the waste industry, including a significant time in the construction, management and restoration and closure of landfill sites. Has the ability to provide the most economic solution to the client which satisfies all stakeholders including regulators. Gerry is also aware that sites may still be operational whilst engineering works are taking place and accepts that there should not be any conflict between operations and capital works. An excellent ability to communicate and involve other interested parties. Gerry holds a number of Certificates of Technical Competence including Managing Landfill Operations Special Waste (LS4).
Stella Consonni, Senior Consultant & Researcher, Qualified Lawyer, LLM, MSc, AIEMA
An enthusiastic and experienced Environmental Consultant who has worked within the integrated waste management and resource efficiency field for over 9 years, including circular economy approaches such as closed loop and remanufacturing. Stella is experienced in undertaking robust research, evidence gathering and analysis, and has also successfully managed and delivered a variety of projects for private and public organisations. Stella has wide knowledge of relevant Environmental Legislation such as UK, EU and International Compliance related to producer responsibility of post-consumer packaging, WEEE, batteries and International Legal Requirements on the export of waste for recovery (OECD, EC/WSR and Basel Convention), including green list wastes and used automotive lithium-ion batteries.
Les Thomson, Technical Consultant
Over 20 years experience as an Environmental Technician Consultant, mainly as a filed worker with considerable experience of sampling methods and procedures in hydrological ground water and surface water sampling, gas monitoring and landfill monitoring. Supervision of small drilling works and trial pitting during geotechnical and contaminated land investigations and installation of environmental monitoring boreholes.
Jill Thomson, Environmental Consultant, BSc Hons
A professional environmental scientist with over ten years’ experience in the industry. Jill has experience in undertaking phase one desk studies, phase 2 site investigations, quantitative risk assessments, production of investigation reports, development and validation of remediation strategies, technical reviews of 3rd party reports and environmental compliance auditing. In addition, Jill has successfully managed a variety of small to medium environmental projects.
Fraser Christie, Environmental Consultant & Site Technician, BSc Hons
Fraser has environmental experience in the Private, Public and Third Sectors. He has a regulatory background and has carbon reduction and project management experience. Fraser also has international experience, spending eighteen months working abroad for EPA-Victoria before joining Albion. In his role as Environmental Consultant and Site Technician he will be conducting environmental monitoring and compliance assessments.

Chris Eccles, Environmental Technician MSc, BSc Hons
Chris recently graduated having spent the past 5 years studying environmental civil engineering with a specialty year in geo-environmental engineering. Chris has also gained valuable project management experience whilst interning in California with a construction management company on a large project to redevelop a city college. This experience demonstrated the importance of identifying the needs of the client and effective engagement between client and contractor.
In his role as Environmental Technician Chris will assist our team with waste analysis, environmental monitoring and site investigation work. In addition to his role he will also provide support to senior members of the team in the delivery of consultancy projects.
