Temporary Site Management
Longtown Skip Hire
Albion was pleased to provide temporary site management for Longtown Skip Hire while their manager was progressing candidate through their COTC. We provided a qualified COTC holder for 1 day per week to cover COTC and Waste Management Licence conditions.
During this time we provided the following services:
- Staff training
- Preparation of site procedures
- Interviewing prospective staff
- Provision of updated Working Plan and drawings
- Review of new transfer station
Manager has now completed his COTC and Environment Agency have been delighted with the improvement to the site operations.
Albion Environmental Ltd are now applying for planning permission for a new waste transfer station for Longtown Skip Hire. Once this is secured we will then complete the necessary work to secure a Waste Management Licence.

Tarbolton Landfill Site
Tarbolton landfill built their new landfill directive and PPC compliant cell in April 2007. Albion Environmental Ltd was responsible for providing the CQA for the whole project.
Further CQA work at Tarbolton Landfill site is planned for 2008 and will include supervision of gas and leachate extraction systems, installation of capping and construction of new site lagoons.
WRG
In December 2007, Albion Environmental Ltd provided CQA supervision for leachate well retro-drills at Greengairs Landfill Site located near Airdrie. Works ensured leachate wells were drilled and constructed to the approved specification.
Infinis
Albion Environmental Ltd has now completed two CQA supervision projects for Infinis. A total of 40 gas extraction wells were installed at both projects. Work was completed at Greengairs Landfill Site and Drummond Moor Landfill Site (near Penicuik) in April and October 2007.
Shanks Argyll and Bute
Albion Environmental Ltd is delighted to be working with Shanks Argyll and Bute to provide CQA supervision for their ongoing capping and engineering works. During 2007 / 2008 we provided CQA supervision at Dalinlongart Landfill Site in Dunoon and Lingerton Landfill Site in Lochgilphead.
By mid 2008 we will also be undertaking CQA work at their Moleigh landfill Site in Oban again for capping works.

Tarbolton Landfill Ltd
As part of the overall service we provide to Tarbolton Landfill site we also complete environmental monitoring to ensure compliance with their PPC. The monitoring services we provide as standard are listed below.
- On-site monitoring and sampling
- Independent Laboratory analysis
- Monthly/weekly trigger level repeat sampling (trigger by PPC trigger limits)
- Provision of raw data
- Annual interpretive reports
- SEPA reports
- Scottish Pollutant Release Inventory annual reporting
Oran
Albion Environmental Ltd recently won the monitoring contract for West Carron Landfill Site in Falkirk which is run by Oran Recycling. We are providing weekly gas monitoring in addition to the monthly sampling requirements of their PPC conditions. We supply:
- On-site monitoring and sampling

- Monthly/weekly trigger level repeat sampling (trigger by PPC trigger limits)

- Annual interpretive reports

WM Tracey
Albion started a 10 week monitoring regime with WM Tracey in January at their reclamation site at Barrhead. We undertake the following:
- Prepare sampling method statement
- Attend site once per week to sample
- Maintain Chain of custody with lab
- Report results to client
- Arrange to get landfill and disposal site acceptance levels
- Agree disposal sites with client
- Prepare final summary report.
