Alasdair Meldrum
Graduated from Strathclyde University 1991 with degree in Environmental Health. Worked for Shanks and McEwan (later to become Shanks) from 1991 to 1996 where I had the great opportunity to visit and work at the full range of sites within the Shanks group. Then moved to Barr Environmental in 1996 to set up and run a new landfill site. After a year company took over another landfill site and I become General manager covering all landfill, transfer and haulage operations for Barr Environmental. Left in 2001 and had short spell at Clinical waste incinerator.
Established Albion Environmental Ltd in 2002 to provide training and support to the waste and construction industries. Company continues to expand across the UK, by using qualified and experienced staff to deliver staff requirements. Spent a lot of 2007 working in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Africa developing waste management solutions. Company also has a member or staff working on an EU funded project in Serbia providing clinical waste treatment solutions.

- NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Health and Safety, November 2005
- Certificate of Technical Competence (COTC) for Managing Transfer, Treatment, Landfill and Incineration Operations - Hazardous Waste.
- D34 Internal Verifier award achieved January 2003
- D32 and D33 ISM Assessor Award
- EDA Management Training Course Diploma; ISO 9000 Quality System Assessment; Variety of waste management and related training courses.
- Approved trainer for delivery of Chartered Institute of Wastes Management Waste Awareness Course - Dec. 2003.
